Sustainability: our concrete commitment

Addressing the issue of sustainability in the company requires concrete and measurable actions. For us, this means acting responsibly in three key areas:

  • Environmental protection
  • Employee protection and well-being
  • Creating an ethical profit

Environmental protection

Our company has adopted a rigorous and conscious approach to environmental sustainability, starting with the exclusive use of renewable energy. Our supplier certifies annually that 100% of the electricity and methane gas we use comes from renewable sources.

Renewable energy certificate Natural gas certificate

We are committed to consuming this energy sparingly, using the most efficient technologies available. All spaces in our company are illuminated with high-efficiency LED lamps, minimizing the energy impact. For heating, we use electrical systems equipped with inverters, which allow us to control the use of energy according to the actual needs of the rooms.

In the production departments, we optimize the use of compressed air thanks to a large tank powered by a membrane compressor with inverter. This system allows us to significantly reduce energy consumption.

In the offices, we adopt simple but effective solutions: in winter, we have lowered the temperature by one degree and encourage the use of warmer clothing. In summer, we favor casual clothing, accepting an extra degree to reduce the use of air conditioning.

In the printing department, we use only water-based inks, reducing the use of harmful chemicals. The water we consume is limited to the bare minimum: a few liters a day for printing operations and for human consumption, exclusively filtered and cooled tap water. Emissions into the atmosphere are reduced to the essentials, consisting only of heated air necessary to dry the inks.

Each of our decisions starts from the consideration of environmental impact, placing sustainability at the center of every action.

Employee protection and well-being

The well-being of our employees is a top priority. For years, we have been applying fair compensation policies, without any distinction of gender, ethnicity or nationality. We believe that diversity is a source of wealth and we promote an inclusive and respectful environment.

Our employment contracts are exclusively open-ended, and we are committed to maintaining all the activities we can manage internally, even at higher costs, to ensure stability and security for our employees.

Safety at work is essential for us. We constantly invest in training, equipment and protocols to prevent any risk, thus protecting the health and integrity of every person who works with us.

We keep work environments clean and tidy, with weekly cleaning in both offices and production departments. Periodically, we dedicate days to the correct removal and disposal of materials that are no longer needed, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

Each of our production processes is supported by the best technology available, aimed at facilitating operations and making them as efficient as possible, minimizing environmental impact and optimizing working well-being.

Creating an ethical profit

Ethical profit is at the heart of our corporate vision. We firmly believe that economic success should be achieved without compromising the core values of fairness, respect, and social responsibility. Our approach is based on the belief that a company can only thrive if it contributes positively to the well-being of people and the environment.

We invest in business practices that promote social justice and sustainability. This means choosing suppliers who share our values, encouraging the use of sustainably sourced raw materials, and maintaining transparent and responsible management of our resources. Every investment decision is evaluated not only in terms of economic return, but also on the basis of its social and environmental impact.

We believe that a company's value is not only measured by its profits, but also by how these profits are generated and reinvested. To this end, we reinvest a significant portion of our earnings in initiatives that promote environmental sustainability, community well-being, and responsible innovation.

In addition, we are committed to maintaining fair prices for our customers, offering high-quality products that respect the environment and the people involved in their production. We want our customers to feel part of a conscious choice, contributing with their purchases to a fairer and more sustainable economy.

Our vision of ethical profit goes beyond just making money: it's an ongoing commitment to creating real, lasting value, not only for our company, but also for society as a whole.

What kind of energy do we buy to use in the company? Hydroelectric of course!

Hydropower stands out among renewable sources for a number of characteristics that make it essential in the global energy landscape. As time passes, the benefits of green energy sources tend to increase, thanks to continuous advances in efficiency and the increasing ability to recycle materials, reduce costs and limit environmental impact. However, hydropower has peculiarities that make it unique compared to other forms of renewable energy.

One of the most relevant aspects is its clean and sustainable nature. Hydropower produces electricity without emitting greenhouse gases or other pollutants, thus contributing to the reduction of the use of fossil fuels and the improvement of air quality. This renewable and inexhaustible resource exploits the natural water cycle, without subtracting resources from the environment, since the water used is always returned to its natural cycle.

Another strength of hydropower is its extreme flexibility. Hydropower plants can respond quickly to changes in energy demand, going from idle to full power in minutes. This ability to react is essential to adapt to the needs of the moment and to ensure a constant energy supply.

This flexibility is closely linked to the ability of hydropower to stabilize the electricity grid, avoiding the intermittencies typical of other renewable sources such as solar and wind. Pumped storage plants, in particular, act as huge natural batteries: they store energy in times of surplus, and then release it when it is needed most, thus maintaining the balance of the grid.

But hydropower is not limited to just producing electricity; it also plays a crucial role in land management. Hydroelectric power plants can significantly reduce the risk of flooding, thanks to the precise control of water flows. This is particularly important in periods of heavy rainfall, as it allows downstream areas, including farmland, to be protected.

In addition, hydropower contributes to the reclamation of swampy areas and the improvement of the health of waterways. Regulating flows can prevent the accumulation of stagnant water and, at the same time, the infrastructure of the power plants helps to keep waterways free of debris, facilitating navigability.

We must not forget the contribution of hydroelectric power to the development of tourism and water sports. The areas around the hydroelectric reservoirs, often immersed in natural scenery of great beauty, become ideal destinations for hiking, cycling and water activities such as fishing, rafting and rowing. These activities not only enhance the territory, but also offer economic opportunities for local communities.

Hydroelectric power also promotes the conservation of biodiversity. The large water basins created by the power plants promote the growth of vegetation and attract numerous animal species, transforming these areas into real sanctuaries for fauna and flora. Measures such as the construction of channels and ramps for fish ensure the free movement of species along waterways, preserving river ecosystems.

Another aspect of great importance is the enormous energy potential contained in water. Hydroelectric power plants, by exploiting the force of large masses of water, can generate impressive amounts of energy. It is no coincidence that the largest production plants in the world are hydroelectric, capable of meeting the needs of millions of people.

Added to all this is the economic convenience of hydroelectric energy. Despite the high initial costs for the construction of plants, hydropower is among the cheapest energy sources in the long term, thanks to low maintenance costs and the increasing efficiency guaranteed by new technologies.

Finally, the hydroelectric sector is characterized by continuous innovation. Technological advances make it possible to constantly improve the performance of existing plants, increasing energy production and further reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Digitalization, with the use of sensors, robots and drones, allows constant monitoring and predictive maintenance, ensuring maximum efficiency and safety of hydroelectric power plants.

In summary, hydropower not only provides an important source of clean and renewable energy, but also plays a crucial role in natural resource management and environmental protection, making it a key component in the global energy mix.
